In the 19th century, the rising popularity of sea bathing encouraged the creation of seaside resorts to accommodate Parisian high society. In 1858, the Duke of Morny created the seaside resort where the whole of Paris would go. In his words, he had created "the kingdom of elegance". Even today, people still take advantage of the therapeutic virtues of seawater to treat themselves to a wellness break!

Deauville is an international reference, a meeting place for the stars of the big screen and unconditional turfists. Its boards, its multicoloured parasols, its luxury hotels and its casino contribute to the legend of this town in Calvados. Not forgetting the world of horses, the world of boating and golf enthusiasts, as the town has 4 golf courses.

Remembering on the D-Day landing beaches.
